Local and Regional Ministries

There are many ways to bring the love of Jesus into your community and country. Listed below are ways for you to go beyond your church and to be “Christ’s ambassadors.” 2 Corinthians 5:20

The UrbanPromise Mission To equip Camden’s children and young adults with the skills necessary for academic achievement, life management, spiritual growth and Christian leadership. UrbanPromise got its official start in 1988 as a spin-off of the Evangelical Association for the Promotion of Education (EAPE). EAPE was founded by Dr. Tony Campolo, a sociologist and well-known Christian speaker and author widely known for his passionate call for Christians to take seriously Christ’s demand that we seek justice for the poor and liberation for the oppressed. Tony recruited Bruce Main to launch an outreach to children and teens in the city of Camden. Starting with one summer camp run out of a struggling Baptist Church, the outreach quickly grew to include multiple summer camps and afterschool programs.

Seeds of Hope Ministries is the umbrella organization for three ministries that have operated within the City of Camden, NJ for many years. South Jersey Aftercare, which has been in existence since 1998, is an ex-offender reentry ministry for men and women returning from prison. We seek to facilitate the transformation of prisoners and their reconciliation to God, family, and community through our weekly programs, transitional housing and most importantly, the power and truth of Jesus Christ. My Father’s Hands, an outreach ministry to people who find themselves on the streets of Camden (homeless, drug addicts, alcoholics, lost), has been serving people on the street since 2003. Our desire is that they will not only be clothed and fed, but that they will be receptive to the Good News of the Gospel. She Has A Name, which had its beginnings in 2005, is a specific outreach to the ladies who find themselves in bondage to drugs and eventual prostitution. We share practical care and the unconditional love of Christ with these women who walk the streets of inner city Camden. Through many volunteers and the provision of individual donations, we are able to reach out to the least, the last and the lost with love, compassion and tangible help that comes in countless forms. We consider it a joy and a privilege to care for individuals that the world would prefer to ignore or kick to the curb. Our mission and vision is to see lives changed by the Gospel for the glory of God.

Every Saturday Feeding 5000 meets at Fellowship Alliance to assemble over 100 bagged lunches. Then we carpool over to Philly and deliver food, prayer, and friendship to the homeless and hurting.   My Father’s Hand             One Saturday morning a month we take a group down to Camden to prepare a pancake breakfast to serve to homeless men and women. During the breakfast we are able to sit, listen, and pray with these hurting folks.

Dear Father, I now believe that Jesus Christ is Your only begotten Son, that He came to our earth in the flesh and died on the cross to take away all of my sins and the sins of this world. I believe that Jesus Christ then rose from the dead on the third day to give all of us eternal life. Lord Jesus, I now confess to You all of the wrong and sinful things that I have ever done in my life. I ask that You please forgive me and wash away all of my sins by the blood that You have personally shed for me on the cross. I am now ready to accept You as my personal Lord and Savior. I now ask that You come into my life and live with me for all of eternity. Father, Jesus – I now believe that I am truly saved and born again. Thank You Father. Thank You Jesus. Helping Hand Grief Support Our Mission The Helping Hand Grief Support Group offers resources for the bereaved through education, encouragement, counseling, and understanding. Our mission is to walk alongside the bereaved during their journey in the grief process. Through the love and compassion of those who have also experienced the loss of someone loved, we strive towards understanding and reconciliation.
